What do you want to bet that those Kate Spade and Prada bags are made in overseas sweatshops as well?

Whoa people, Whoa! Let's dial down the ridiculous hyperbole and simply agree to disagree. None of us are perfect, of that one thing we can all be sure.

Some of us like Canal Street and the products, fake & real & otherwise, that are sold there. Some of us do not.

The sun will rise tomorrow. Everybody relax.

Neither the world's labor problems nor the solution to shallow materialism can be found on Canal Street.

Want an insider's tip. A great place to buy pashmina's (yes they are real, not rayon) is on Canal St. It's a very small store just west of Chinatown, and I think it is on the corner of Layfayette and Canal on the south east corner.

The Pashmina's are in a large case at the back of the store and they come in every color you are looking for. The price is about $25-$45 depending on the size. They also have the newest ones that have beads and embroidery. They are absolutely beautiful and a great price. Same things at the large stores here for $100 or more. I now have at least a dozen in lots of colours.

Canal Street is alot of fun, also a bit east are all the jewelry stores and you can haggle in most of those as well. I have gotten some really beautiful things there over the last few years.

Parking is the biggest problem you will find. I would suggest getting in in the early am and parking at one of the lots in the area, but figure it will cost you $20 for the day.

Another option is to take the subway, or cabs.

Have a great time, the shopping is great there and so many of the businesses got hurt badly by 9/11 they could use the boost of business.

Have a great time.

Too bad I can't get to N.Y. because I think it is fun and worthwhile to shop for fake handbags ! I will be going to SAN FRANCISCO next month so does anyone lnmow a place like Canal Street out there where I can support the illegal activity and not feel one bit guilt? I am serious so if anyone knows please tell me where to go!!

Tracy: I believe you're mistaken. You're the one that can't read.

You also sound just like NYBOY flaunting your purchases in our faces like we really care about how much better your things are just because they're real. Get a life.

What purchases did I flaunt in your face jane? And apparently you do care, since you continue to flame on this post. Take your meds and a nap and maybe you will feel better.

Kitkat is showing her sophomoric humour, at best. Yawn. New York can do better.
