Bronx Zoo & Teenagers
I have family coming from FL. The teenagers are 12, 13, and 16. Do you think the zoo would be too corny for them?
Also, has anyone done the Shark high speed boat tour of Manhattan?
My husband has vetoed museums and Broadway. And two of them are too young for the MTV TRL taping. I've already taken care of dining arrangements. Would appreciate any other suggestions. Thank you.

The zoo is great, but it's huge. Get a good map.
It's intriguing that your husband should take it upon himself to veto museums and theater in the best museum and theater city in the USA.
Perhaps you can ditch him and take your kids to the Museum of Natural History and a Broadway show (discount tickets at www.broadwaybox.com).

The zoo is fun, but very big. Also very hot depending on when you go. Wednesdays are free (suggested donation).
You can always stop in at places like Sony Wonder, FAO Schwarz, Central Park, NBC Studio Tour, etc.
Museum of Natural History could be one of the more exciting ones for kids.
Have fun!

Wow, thanks for the quick replies.
I know, I know, this is his reasoning. He thinks museums would be boring for that age group and even through TKTS thinks it would be too expensive to pay for 3 teens, their parents, and us.
It will be hot (on Tuesday) so maybe the zoo won't be such a good idea! Maybe we'll do the high speed boat tour (which I may post in a new header for feedback) and the museum of Natural History. Everyone seems to think the kids would like this. Maybe South Street Seaport. Thanks again.

How long does it take non athletic people to walk across the bridge? Is there something to do once you get to Brooklyn or do you just turn around and come back? Again, it's will be in the mid 90's on Tuesday, this may be something better on a cooler day. Thanks.

Most kids that age love the Museum of Natural History - esp with some of the IMAX movies. I wouldn't turn those down without checking with the kids - and have them look at the web site.
Also - many kids that age love theater. (I took my nephew and a friend to Rent for his 12th birthday). So - again, ask the kids - and give them options such as Stomp - not just Chicago and South Pacific.

Although many people say walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is great I think it is overrated and wouldn't do it in very hot weather
If they have never been to a big Chinatown before they might enjoy walking there after SS Seaport
