I am planning a June trip to Breckenridge. I like extremely nice accomodations. I have no preference for a hotel or condo. I have read past posts. Any ideas? What about Marriott Mt. Valley, Hyatt Main St. or Valdoro Mt. Lodge?

Valdoro is a new timeshare property. My brother "owns" there and likes it. Close to slopes and to downtown.

I always use www.vrbo.com for condos.

Breck in the summer is fun. Make sure you do the alpine slide.

We've stayed at the Hyatt Main Street, and we've rented houses off VRBO. If you want to be in the thick of the town, Hyatt is great. If you prefer some solitude, it is easy to find a house online. Breck is easy to find lodging, it's just a matter of personal preference.

We've done it in town and out, and decided we like privacy. We will rent a house outside town.

Marriott Mt. Valley Lodge is nice but not luxurious. It seems to be geared more to the ski crowd than the those that are searching for romance or luxury. It is conviniently located, next door to the Hilton and within walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. Have you looked at Vail? The Marriott there is a step up from the Breckenridge one. Also in Vail, is the Sonnenelp (sp?) which is highly rated.

If you are considering Vail, I can highly recommend the Sonnenalp. We stayed there for four nights last July and LOVED it. It is pricey, but well worth it!

I would echo the comment about Marriott Mountain Lodge (I think that's what you're referring to); friends of ours stayed there, and it was nice but not luxurious. My parents stayed at the Hyatt Main Street property (they can't handle the stairs in our condo), and while it seemed very nice to me, they didn't like it that much - though they gave no details.

Here's another idea - I often go running by a B&B that I've never been in, but the exterior, both the building (a log cabin-style place) and the landscaping, is very inviting. It looks from the outside like a luxury type of property. It's called the Little Mountain Lodge. It's on the south side of town, away from the crowds, but still within a (longer) walking distance from Main St.

My husband and I stayed at the Little Mountain Lodge a few years ago. It was our very best experience at a B&B. We stay in them often when traveling and try to go to luxury ones. That said, it was sold to other owners after we stayed there. I still wouldn't hesitate to go back. Have fun.
