Boston's Best Hotels
If anyone is traveling to Boston or New England and is looking for a hotel to stay in look no farther. The Tage Inns & Suites are the most comfortable, clean and affordable hotels I have ever stayed at and I am a road warrior (100 hotel nights per year). The rooms are spacious and luxurious, comfortably appointed and feature high speed internet access. Their breakfast is awesome!! They serve Green Mountain coffee and homemade Belgian Waffles. They also have the nicest people working for them at their hotels. I just wish these guys would build more of these hotels around the country; the 4 they have in Boston and New Hampshire are not enough!

Why, MartiniMan, how thoughtful of you to sign up for the Fodors travel boards just to share this tidbit with us!
Too bad none of the Tage's are actually in Boston, they're in lovely Somerville and distant suburbs of Milford and Andover.
Their web site promotes them as "Greater Boston's best hotel value." That might be true, but it's a far cry from being Boston's best hotels.

Martini Man, did you not read the guidelines that say no advertising is allowed here? This and your other post touting Tage Inns are going to be pulled, I would imagine, as soon as someone complains to Fodors. But you have wasted our time and I, for one, will make a point of avoiding Tage Inns henceforth. They sound like a losing proposition anyway.
Go away! And don't call me at dinner, either!

A friend of mine stayed at the Tage Inn off Route 495 in Milford about 20 years ago when he was interviewing at Waters. At the time Granite Park didn't exist, so there weren't a lot of choices for hotels and motels in the area. I've never been in one, but they are pretty basic and are similar to Red Roof Inns; they always seem to be right off an exit to a highway and near all the fast food joints. When I have passed by Tage Inns, I have seen big trucks in the parking lots, leading me to believe that mostly truckers that are wanting to sleep anywhere other than their cabs stay there.
The one in Milford is fairly non-descript looking. It is a cement structure that gives the appearance that it is a hiding place for US Government missiles. Although the outside appearance is pretty dismal, I hope the Tage Inns invested its money into making the rooms comfortable and pleasant looking. If they have high speed internet access, there must have been some updating in the past twenty years. Pricing appears to be competitive with the local Red Roof Inns. And, you can get further discounts by picking up the complimentary highway guide at any of the major highway rest stops. There is always at least one discount coupon for the Tage Inns.
The word "luxurious" is pretty subjective. If anyone wants to stay at the Tage Inn, I suggest that they look at the website and form their own opinions. To me, they are on the level of a Red Roof Inn.
MartiniMan, if you describe the Tage Inns are "luxurious" I just wonder how you describe the Four Seasons or either Ritz Hotel in Boston.

I just checked out the Tage Inn website (www.tageinn.com). I was quite disappointed that there are not any photographs of the hotel rooms available for viewing. This leads me to believe that they are pretty basic and not at all luxurious.
Three other items worth mentioning - the Manchester Tage Inn opened in August 2003.
The Tage Inns also cater to tour groups - possibly a senior citizen foliage tour.
And, I have good news for MartiniMan - the Tage Inn advertises franchise opportunities. Possibly one day we will see MartiniMan owning his own Tage Inn - of course, at an exit to a highway.
