Boston Logan Airport Parking Suggestions

Hello!

I will be in Andover, MA on business (from Maine) on 7-10. I'll need to fly from Logan that afternoon to Baltimore (more business). Driving from Andover, what is the best route and best airport parking options? Convenience and easier driving are higher priorities than price and parking on-airport.

Thanks!!

Just a thought, but do you have to fly from Logan? Southwest flies from Manchester to Baltimore and it is a bit easier to get to Manchester than Logan. The flight isn't any longer.

I live in Andover and so know both routes and have done them countless times. Do you care about the price of parking? For Logan, take 93S into Boston. Just after you go over the Zaikim bridge, get over to the right and take the Government Center/Airport exit and follow the signs that point you to the airport. Follow the signs from there after you go through the tunnel.

In terms of convenience, I usually just park in central parking or the garage for Terminal B. The discount for the more remote parking options is not that great, in my opinion. Logan has info. on parking, including rates, at http://www.massport.com/logan/parki_where.html

Let me know if you need any more info.

Manchester...hmmm...that could be an option. I'll be driving home to Maine when I am done in Baltimore...so Logan is a tad closer to home, but not by much. It's an option I didn't think of! Thanks!

I'm not sure Logan is all that much closer - if you do Manchester, just head down 93 to meet back up with 495 and head over to 95. Not much of a difference!

Depending on the time of day, however, traffic may be bad in either direction on 93, and there is just no way to avoid it. Will be bad once you get close to Boston if there is a game that day, and will be sticky heading north after about 3:30 or so.

Where in Maine?

Brunswick. Just up the coast about 40 minutes north of Portland.

You don't sound panicky about driving to Logan (not should you), but you could also park at Logan Express in Woburn and take bus to airport.

Get on Rte 93 south and get off at Commerce Way exit. At traffic light go straight and you will run into Logan Express parking. Bus leaves about every 1/2 hour and stops at all terminals.

I think SWA flies MHT (Manchester) to BWI. Manchester airport is very easy to get to from Andover as well.

To get home from Manchester I usually do 101 from 93 to 95.

sofee - I knew there must be a better route.

It's not that bad to get in and out of Logan, though, and I can't stand waiting around for a shuttle when I get home - I just want to go home! If you do the shuttle, though, the Commerce Way exit is one away from 128/95, so you can just hop on 95 to head home.
