Boston hotels -- seaching for the "perfect" one!
My huband, 6 month old daughter, and I will be spending three or four nights in Boston this August and I'm looking for the "perfect" hotel of course! Here's what my ideal would be -- I don't suspect I'll find it exactly, but I'd love your expert thoughts on hotels that might have some combination of these qualities: a suite so we can stay up after the baby goes to bed, a pool, great location near the "T" as well as restaurants/shopping in easy walking distance, and a "reasonable" price (under $200 a night?). Thanks in advance for your help!

It's near to impossible to find what you're looking for at a price under $200. In fact, I'd say it's unrealistic.
You've just got too many "qualities" in your criteria.
Bidding on Priceline might be your best option. But, then, your criteria are so specific that I'm not sure how you "guarantee" getting what you want.

You'll be lucky to find a regular hotel room for under $200 outside of the city limits let alone a suite in Boston with a pool on the T and near restaurants and shopping.
For what you are asking, be prepared to pay $400-800/night.

Your best bet for a hotel under $200.00 is through Priceline. Go to www.biddingfortravel.com for bidding advice. People are getting 4 stars hotel for less than $150.00 a night.

You won't get it for under 200.00 a night, but the Sheraton at Prudential Place has a pool, and is located almost right on top of Prudential Place which has restaurants, shops, and a T stop on the green line. It will be unlikely that you will pay under 200.00 for any decent centrallly located hotel in Boston. Good luck

My favorite hotel (which happens to be in San Francisco) has a new sister hotel in Boston. It's part of the Kimpton Group which has fabulous, unique boutique hotels.
The Boston hotel, the Hotel Onyx, has just opened and the website says there are offering $149 rates. I took a quick glance and they have a health club but I'm not sure they have a pool. You can investigate if you are interested.
I received an email that a new NYC hotel just opened too. I can't tell you how much I love the Hotel Monaco, one of many they operate in SF. Anyway, check it out if you are interested.

I came across this as I was searching for a hotel in SF. Go to Travelzoo, right now the Fairmont Hotel (one of the best in Boston) in Copley Sq is having a sale.
