BETTE MIDLER OR CHER IN LAS VEGAS?

If I can only see 1 show in Las Vegas, which, Bette Midler or Cher?
Or if that doesn't work out for me, what other would be "not to be missed"?
thanks!

munchkin,

I saw one Cirque show many years ago, but not in LV. Really enjoyed it.

Got to see Bette Midler a few years ago at Universal when she had not toured in many years. What a great show in every way. Once of the very best concerts I've ever seen. I'd choose Bette over Cher.

We saw O and really liked it, but it was a few years ago.
We also saw 3 other cirque shows, names cannot remember. After awhile they kinda all look alike. But if you haven't seen one, I would recommend it.
Also, I believe there are discounts available for some of these shows. Google it.

Just saw Bette at Ceasars in June and she was great. I thought Bette, Cher & Elton Jon alternated at Ceasars?

I've seen Bette in concert and agree she is marvelous - but that was a few yrs ago and not in Vegas. Saw Cher do her show in Vegas this year and thought it was also amazing - hard to compare two fabulous entertainers of that quality - I did enjoy Cher's costumes, and "traveling' with her from the early days, Sonny and Cher clips, etc right up to present - her back up dancers, etc, - it was all a great performance.

Cirque you can also never go wrong with - highly recommend too if you have never seen one.

Bette and Cher alternate so the discussion of who is better is pretty much mute. I personally would opt for Bette. Cirque shows currently are offering a summer special, purchase one ticket at full price and the second costs only $25. I have seen most of them and I highly recommend both LOVE and KA though you cannot go wrong with Mystere, the original LV Cirque show.

O at the Bellagio is very unique because the stage/pool was specially designed for that stage. Great water features. I've seen several Cirque shows and thought that one was the best (and yes, they do all tend to look alike after a while). I think there are some times when (with enough time and planning) you can catch both Bette and Cher with a few days in between while they re-set the stage. I'd love to see both (obviously since I've tried to work out seeing both in one trip), but if I had to choose I'd also go with Bette.

I've only seen Bette Midler perform on her short lived tv show. However... she has turned in a spectacular performance here in NYC with her Restoration Project. They've restored derelict parks, enchanced others , planted trees, etc. She's an amazing person.

another vote for Bette- have seen both and they are both great- but Bette seems to e to have an extra energy and pzazz -

I also saw her years ago when she was just getting started and she was much more wild and crazy than she is now - but both shows fun and entertaining -

Saw both Cher and Bette and Better was by far the better show. Maybe Cher was just having an off night, but she basically walked through the show with little energy or personality. Her costumes were very heavy, and gorgeous, so maybe that was the problem.

Bette on the other hand blew me away. Made me laugh and weep -- when she sang her famous ballads. She bantered a lot with audiences and was warm and funny. Highly recommended.

My husband just saw Bette Last Friday. Said it was incredible. He's seen all the Cirque variations and Cher. He said Bette was just so full of energy and connected so well with the audience that she's his favorite so far.

BETTE IT IS.....(Just realized Bette & Cher alternate)....I still have not booked tickets, I was trying to find discounts buty apparently not available. I've heard "rear orchestra" seats are ok at the venue for Bette...& we're trying to stay in $150.00 price range, is that possible? Our trip is at end of October 2009. Hope we're not missing out on good seats yet! thanks for any / all information
