Universal's Islands of Adventure is FANTASTIC. Don't know how you feel about Disney. If you want info on Disney and Universal and Seaworld, go to www.disboards.com
You might also like Busch Gardens.

As one adult recommending to another, I would definitely agree with Scherl about Islands of Adventure.
The rides, and the whole design of the park is simply amazing. The creativety and execution of each 'theme' area is remarkable. The rides are also state-of-the-art; the Spiderman ride is currently the most sophisticated theme park ride in the world, it combines 3-D IMAX projection with a motion ride that is on a track, so rather than the ride just shaking up/down & back/forth, you are doing that WHILE moving forward and around on a track, , so the environment scenery changes as you move. What you 'see' is a combination of 3-D projection, scale model recreations, and special effects, like real fire, & steam! It was simply an amazing ride.

Universal and Island of Adventure are both great---both parks are side by side - The city walk is also there with shops, restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels nearby where you can easily walk to the parks themselves w/o paying for parking or cab fare.

My husband and I just got back from Orlando and have to say we loved the Universal Parks and really didn;t enjoy Disney much at all. Maybe if we had gone to Disney first and then Universal it may have been different.
However Disney is old and kind of outdated while Universal had great attractions and more things of interest for adults. They also sell a ticket book fo express entry onto rides. Much better system then Disneys fast pass which is annoying at beast.
