Best radio stations in Manhattan?

Hello.

Just moved to NYC and am looking for some really good fun radio stations. I like to listen to a bit of everything......

jazz
R&B/Soul
Alternative

and IMPORTANTLY, a good NEWS station.....world news, not just local news.

And any other funky stations. I hear that NYC has some of the best DJ's and radio stations.

Please advise.
Cheers.

Hardly a "fun" station, but I like CD 101.9. Soft jazz, can have it on all day. For news I likde CBS newsradion 88.

For world and local news, 1010 WINS (AM) is "the most listened-to radio station in the nation"...according to their ads. I listen to both this and CBS 88 in the morning. They're pretty similar, overall, but CBS also airs Yankee games.

For a little bit of everything, try WFMU 91.1 FM. This has everything from klezmer to digeridoo.

Dance/pop: 103.5 KTU

Spanish language/music: MEGA 97.9

Standard top 40: 100.3, 95.5

classical: wqxr

NPR: 93.9 fm

There is a chart of all this information in the NYTimes Arts section.
