Back Bay vs Copley area
Going to Boston the end of August for the Boston Gift show. What are the advantages/disadvantages to staying in the Copley area vs the Back Bay area. Hotel recommendations would also be appreciated. Definitely want a nicer hotel. I do have Hilton points I can use so any advice on the Hilton hotels would also help. I would rather stay somewhere nice and convenient first though over the Hilton points. Thanks a bunch in advance!!!!

The location of the Hilton in Back Bay is just fine and it's a very nice hotel. It's about 1/2 walking from Copley Square, and right around the corner from the Prudential subway station. Around the corner in the other direction is my favorite restaurant in Boston, Abe & Louie's, especially for Saturday or Sunday brunch, particularly if there's a table available on the sidewalk!

Gretchen....we stayed at The Lenox Hotel in Back Bay and loved it. It's a 100 year old beautifully updated boutique hotel w/in very easy walking distance to the Prudential blding, Copley square and everything else. There's a subway station very close by.

If the gift show is at the Hynes Auditorium, the Hilton is ideal. If you walk across the street to the Sheraton, go up the escalator in the lobby, walk out the door on the next level, you will be at the enterence to the Hynes. From there you can also walk through the indoor malls all the way to Copley Sq. incase the weather is not perfect.
