Bachelorette @ Las Vegas
Hi:
Does anyone have any experiences re the nightlife in Vegas?
About 5 (late 20's) girls are going for a Bachelorette Party Weekend. Thinking about the Chip&dales- Rio... Clubing...???
Are clubs difficult to get into? Which ones do you recomend.
How about good and budget conscious meals?
****Any suggestions?****

LONG lines unless you are EXTREMELY hot. Plan on one club a night and go early when it's lame and slow to avoid the lines. Clubs at the Rio.. so so.. the Palms- a couple good places there - pretty good..but you can expect 2-3 hour lines on weekends. good meals? If you have a room with a fridge bring a few items. The food is so-so at SO many places and the walk can be far to grab a quick little bite. No fridge? Call the desk and most of the nicer places will bring one up. The Bellagios breakfast buffet really is worth the splurge tho!

Linda- For a bachelorette party, I would definitely go to Chippendale's-much better than calling some random sleazy guy from the phone book. The guys are hot, your bachelorette will get lots of attention, and you will be entertained. Before the show, the guys were mingling with the audience and one of them gave me and my friends VIP passes to Light, the club at Bellagio! I've been to RA and I would NOT recommend that place...it just wasn't my crowd or scene- a little sleazy and ghetto. Light was fun but there were lots of yuppie-ish types...I hear Rain at the Palms is fun for a 20-something crowd. Have fun whatever you decide to do

A little more about us...
We are planning on staying on the strip. We currently have reservations @ Bally's & Treasure Island. We wanted to stay @ Palms but too $$$. So if we find a better deal we might take it. We dont have the exact dates bec/ we are waiting on cheaper airfare and aiming towards Aug or Sept. Departing Friday night and get there 10pm Vegas time - leave Monday midday.
None of us have been to Chip&dale kind of thing. So thank you for "dlgirl" for recommending it. On a prior trip we went to RA and did not like it either. We did not get to go to another club. And we have heard and seen the looooooong & horrificly humiliating lines @ clubs.
-When you mean get there early what time do u mean?
What day of the week did you go to Light? I was told Sunday nights was a good day????!
Foodwise - I do want the Bellagio buffet; it will be a great treat. Is it good anytime? - or just breakfast?

Ra is a club at the Luxor... If frat-boy drinking, spring-break in Cancun kinda fun is your cup of tea, then go.
I like Rumjungle at Mandalay Bay, the Foundation room at House of Blues, Little Buddha at the Palms (try going there for a late dinner, it gets going afterwards)... Drai's at Barbary Coast is a very cool after-hours spot... think arriving there at 2am or so.

I stopped by Bellagio this past Sunday night at around midnight and the line for Light was very long and full of young, good-looking people. I don't know if it's like that every Sunday or just because it was a holiday weekend.

Here are a few tips - you can pay for a VIP package at most clubs, which allows you to skip the line, get a table in the club, and usually includes a bottle of liquor and mixers. Expect to pay several hundred dollars, but if you split the cost, it's not too bad and may be worth it to avoid spending the entire night in line. I was in Vegas with a girlfriend on Memorial Day weekend and every club was PACKED!! We tried OPM at the shops in Caesar's Palace (very hip-hop environment), Ra at Luxor (very techno the night we were there, but we had fun, not too crowded, about an hour in line to get in), Risque at Paris (not as bad of a line, nice employees, good DJ and fun mix of people), and Curve at Aladdin (so-so DJ, not many people when we were there). The problem with Light at Bellagio is that the don't even have a line, you just stand around, hoping the doormen pick you out and let you in. We paid more in cover charges ($20-$35) because it was a holiday. On a previous trip, we went to Rumjungle at Mandalay Bay, which had good music. It's a big place, however, so unless there are a lot of people, it feels empty. Last tip: chat it up with bartenders and cab drivers, they often have VIP passes for clubs, which allow you to get in without paying a cover or get you past the line without waiting.
