B&Bs in Portland and along the Coast
Hi folks!
I've been searching through the boards but haven't seen many recs for B&Bs in Portland and along the coast. We're going to Portland for four days and I'm thinking we'll spend one or two nights on the coast. We LOVE staying in B&Bs, especially if they serve a fantastic breakfast.
Thank you for your help!
Shannon

Hi Shannon, I have not stayed at it but family members have often stayed at the White House B&B. It is on the east side of the river however. Their website if www.portlandswhitehouse.com if you want to check it out.
Enjoy beautiful Portland, it is one of my favorite cities. Well uhm, this information is correct if you are talking about Portland, Oregon versus Portland, Maine.

Stephanie Inn in Cannon Beach is arguably the nicest place on the entire Oregon coast. And the breakfasts are very good there.
Portland, however is known more for its boutique-type hotels than for B&B's. However, one of my brothers lives very close to this place: http://www.lionrose.com/. Somehow, I don't think you'd be disappointed staying there. But, like the Whitehouse, it's a mile or two from the city center.

Hi shannon2006! Astoria has many, many B&B's, it is actually about ten minutes from the coast and located on the Columbia River. Lots of quaint Victorian homes, great places to wine taste, eat, etc. We have an exhibit there at the Maritime Museum which is very educational. The riverfront Trolley runs by the museum. oldoregondotcom is a website for Astoria.
We have seen this little town go through many changes over the past 16 years when we purchased a home in the area. There is also a B&B called the Gilbert House in Seaside where we enjoyed a couple of nice stays a few years ago. It is about a block or so from the ocean. ***kim***

Hi shannon!
We stayed in Arch Cape last week and I have to recommend the Inn at Arch Cape, www.innatarchcape.com or this fabulous place that was nearby www.archcapehouse.com.
Personally, for sheer beauty of the area and coast , as well as ocean views, I would stay in Cannon Beach or south, Astoria is on a river and while they are trying, it still does not IMO , compare with the Coastal towns south.
