ASTON Resorts on Maui

I am interested in feedback on one or all of these three resorts: ASTON Ka'anapali Shores, ASTON at Papakea, and ASTON Maui Ka'anapali Villas. My fiance and I are trying to plan an "affordable" destination wedding, and it seems that through Apple Vacations these resorts have much more affordable rates. Can anyone tell me about their first-hand experience with any of these resorts? Thank you.

Hi, we love The Kaanapali Shores. We have stayed for years at The Renaissance in Wailea. A few years ago we decided to try The Aston Kaanapali Shores, we are so happy that we did. The rooms are excellent, roomy, and very comfortable. It is great having a kitchen. We used it for breakfast and lunch, sometimes dinner. It is fun to eat in restaurants, but not every night. But at that location, if you are so inclined, there are many restaurants to choose from. Either south to Lahain or north to Kapalua.
If you choose the Shores you should enjoy it there. I cannot wait to return.

Sometimes condo properties are represented by more than one property management company and also individual units may be rented out directly by their owner. Then wholesalers rent out units fronm Aston etc. Gets confusing !
Try a search using just the property name (drop the Aston). Aston's rack rates are often high, you can often get a better price thru' a third party (even AAvacations beats them sometimes).
Have fun, Paul

The Whaler is managed by Aston also. It is on Kaanapali Beach not far from Blackrock and you can walk to Whalers Mall and many places to eat and drink without having to drive anywhere. You can also book the Whaler and several other Kaanapali Condos on VRBO.com (Vacation Rentals By Owner). Prices for studio for two people anywhere from 150.00 to 200.00 a night. 1 bedroom 200.00 to 300.00 per night. Most include tax and there is a 35.00 to 40.00 registration fee. The website will show you pictures of condos and nightly rates. Much cheaper than going thru a management company like Aston. But you wont get any extras. Kaanapali Shores is not on the main part of Kaanapali beach and it is a good walk to Whalers Village and Blackrock. The beach at the Shores is not that great either.
