Aspen Lodging near gondola

We are planning a trip to Aspen for 4 or 5 days in January. Looking to stay near (walking distance) to gondola. There are 4 of us (2 adults and 2 kids..14,17). Condo/Apartment/Hotel are all fine. Any suggestions..thanks

We've stayed in a condo at the Gant a couple of times. While it isn't at the base of the gondola, they have a private shuttle that will take you there. I've walked it in the evening, but wouldn't do it carrying skis and wearing boots.

Aspen Square is a condo hotel right at the base of the gondola. If you contact them, tell them you want a recently remodeled unit. They vary widely in style and furnishings, but they are priced the same, so ask for a new one.

thanks for the input...we are only in Aspen for 4 nights...Aspen Square is a 5 night minimum (so I've been told). The Gant had a room for $700/night which was steep...Chateau Aspen has space and seems "reasonable" ...has anyone had any experience there? THanks again

We used a company called Frias Properties once, to find a condo in downtown Aspen. It wasn't as deluxe as Aspen Square or The Gant, but it was fine for our two nights. It was called Chateau something.
