Argumentative Englishman back again...?

For all those who helped Jimbo out with his LA questions and have been unable to reply to his thread, we can start it again here. There were so many great ideas, it seems such a shame that the message has stopped working.

Here was Jimbo's last post (the original message is still available). Hoping we can give some more advice...

Message: Good morning again to all of you, and thanks once again for all your input and good wishes, even you RNC!

Okay, I think it boils down to this, hire a car for easy driving around UNLESS the things I want to see are easy access. I think I've got a list as follows (so far):

1. Walt Disney Concert Hall
2. Getty Museum
3. Chinese Theatre
4. MOCA (is this worthwhile?)

Other than that, it's a trip down to a beach somewhere for a day.

What do we think of that lot?

Have a nice day!

The thread was frozen in time because Jimbo and I were actually friendly with one another.

That itinerary can work. If you are not going to rent a car, I would recommend staying in Hollywood/West Hollywood. To go to the Getty, you can take the 2 bus on Sunset Blvd. (west) to Hilgard & Wyton and transfer to the 561 bus. You can also take the 2 bus(east) to downtown for the Disney hall and MOCA. From the airport, take Super Shuttle or another van line or taxi. Again, for MTA bus schedules in LA, try www.mta.net

MOCA is okay, but maybe not worth it unless you are really fond of contemporary art. It is, however, right near the Disney hall so it would be simple to pop in for a short visit. While looking at the Disney concert hall, I'd also look at the new cathedral nearby, which has wonderful modern architecture and is fun to visit. The Disney hall is not open yet, so you may or may not be able to actually tour it depending on the timing of your visit.

I haven't been to the Chinese theater in years! I guess it would be fun but it's not really my thing.
