Apartment Swap -- Wanna hear your experience
Has anyone every done/experienced an apartment swap, domestically and/or internationally?
I see a lot of ads in CraigsList for apartment swaps between NYC and Paris. Am curious about how safe this things are.
What precautions do you take so that you can come home to the same apartment after your vacation?

FamousUncleArt, who generally posts on the Europe portion of this site, has done this for a number of trips with success. See:

mingtsainy,
If you top one of my Dads - FamousUncleArt posts I am sure he will answer your questions. We have done it many times. Making sure you have the same understanding of cleanliness and the rules. One person said my Dad left the place dirty (I guess I agreed with them) but they also said the electric was to high and wanted us to pay. If we had set up the rules beforehand it would have been less stress for everyone. Move out all the valuable stuff.
