Paris-how would you like to live your trip ?

Hi all,
I'm Marie from Paris, I'm doing some researches about how Paris visitors want to live their trip ?
Would you prefer to live like a native ? in an apart for exemple or prefer stay in an hotel ? When you where in Paris or when you'll be in Paris are you going to organised your stay around the main sightseings or would you like or did you have also some activities (restaurants, visits, wine tasting, cooking class, etc...) that are more like what Parisian do and not what "tourists" do ?
Do you think that main book guide are tourists trap or good advices for having a trip that is not like the Paris trip that anyone else do ?
Thank you, if you want you can email me directly your response to [email protected]

Why do I think that Marie is promoting her business?

Let me guess: because you clicked on her name and read her other post?

Now if this is the lucky guess do I get a prize?

Honestly, Faina, I didn't do a search of her earlier posts (which turned out to be a single additional post) until after I responded to this thread.
So, now that you know the truth, do I get a prize?

OH, yea. Now I remember this one. This is the apartment that "rents for half the price". Of course she never says half the price of what. Maybe half the price of renting Versailles for a night?

How many of you would feel comfortable renting from someone who comes on here pretending to just be curious and really wants your email to advertise her apartment?

And, I can certainly understand a language barrier, and I KNOW that I could NOT post here in flawless French, but If I were advertising for my business I would attempt to have a decent command of the written word. Leaves one feeling as if there could easily be "mix ups" when making arrangements.

Margie, thank you. I wanted to say that also, but refrained. Sometimes I'm afraid to be politically incorrect these days. But you're right. It isn't a matter of putting down her language skills, but rather the unwise "business" decision not to put on one's best appearance.

sorry that was not an ad for business but a real question, the last post I did was what I did saw as I rent my place sometimes, and some friends of mine also and it's always cheaper than an hotel. My only thought is : if I could open a "business" instead of proposing only rentals to tourists (in another way as agent etc...), what can of activities someone who don't know Paris, or know only the "clichés" would like to do or see...As a traveler myself I don't like people who push for tours that everybody does, but I'm ready to pay for unusual things to do, Sorry if my english is not that fluent but for the person who talked about it I will never felt bad about seing a stranger having a bad french and again sorry if my questions don't please you I didn't meant to spam this group, I just want to learn (to advertise there's other websites)
