Most people usually go the condo route in the panhandle, especially with children. I strongly prefer the quieter beaches of South Walton (e.g., Seaside, Seagrove, Rosemary Beach) over the more crowded and developed Destin.
Look at www.garrettrealty.com for Seagrove Beach rentals. Look at www.resortquest.com for Destin rentals. I've personally used both companies with success, although I prefer Garrett Realty.

You might want to provide your price range and location request (Gulfview, Gulf-front, or across the street from the gulf) to get some specific recommendations. There is a wide range of accomodations types, ranging from $70/night to sky's the limit.

In your original post you said white sand...which to me means the Florida panhandle.
Of course there are places outside of Florida with white sand and calm water, but that is in the Caribbean.
You'll have to be more specific about when you want to go and generally how much you want to spend. If you want to fly versus drive or can only be away for a certain amount of time that will dictate your options.
If you don't supply more info, then you won't get any more feedback because you're not really meeting anyone halfway.
