Any OceanFront Condos in Hilton Head with Great Pools?

A Suite at the Hilton is $319 and I'm wondering if I could get a condo for less. The thing is we'd love a great big pool for the kids and will spend the extra money for it if we have to. So if a condo means little unimpressive pool we'll just stick with the Hilton. Thanks

I'm not sure when you are going, but if you go after the high season ends (early August) you can get a nice house with a very short walk to the ocean and your own pool for a decent price. We do this every summer and it is great! The house we rent in 3rd row so we don't even cross the street to get to the beach. If you are intersted, check out www.islandgetaway.com. We get a 3 bedroom house w/our own pool and jacuzzi (deck, grill, etc) for about $2500 (including taxes/fees) for the week in Palmetto Dunes. Not much more than what you would pay at the Hilton once you add on taxes/hotel fees. Just something I thought you might like to consider.

Thanks! I noticed those descriptions. - 3rd row - what exactly does that mean, and how do you know how close that means to the beach?

Of course oceanfront is usually first row, across the street is second row, and across the street from across the street is third row. Or don't count oceanfront and move everyone back a row.

In other words, you can walk to the beach in about 60 seconds.

3rd row means it is in the 3rd row of houses parallel to the beach. Where we stay on Mooring Buoy in Palmetto Dunes, there are three rows of houses before the first road. We use to rent a house on the other side of the same street, so it was 4th row. Does that make sense? Basically, there is a path from our pool to the beach and we pass 2 other rows of houses before we get to the beach. It is a VERY short walk (we can see the ocean from our house if we stretch our necks) since they build the houses pretty close together that near the ocean. Now the pool at the house is pretty small (nothing I would refer to as impressive), but it is ours and ours alone so there are no crowds at all!!

We used this outfit to rent an oceanfront condo with a pool in HH. It was in Palmetto Dunes.

We had a good experience with them and the condo was in good condition, good view, etc. Nice pool and kiddie pool.

The pool at the Hilton is relatively small. I was there for a convention a couple of weeks ago and the pool was very crowded.

If you are considering Myrtle Beach instead the new Marriot has the best pool hands down. It is actually two infinity pools with cascading water between them and they have a pretty neat water slide also. It was enough for my kids and I didn't have to pay to take them to a water park.

The Embassy Suite has a water park at Myrtle Beach too. Your suite price includes breakfast.
