any homestead condo favorites?

my husband and I will be going to northern michigan for a long weekend in August. The homestead condos look nice. Does anyone have any favorites?

Hi there...private condo or thru the Homestead?? We prefer The Inn and Stoney Brook Lodge, where we will stay in August. Stayed at Hawks Nest last year and it was very dated for the high price we thought.

we were looking at a condo through homestead--but few, if any are air conditioned. They say it isn't necessary, but being from chicago, i'm not sure i trust that.

I woudln't trust that either. If you are going in August, be sure the condo has A/C.

My husband and I just spent a week in Traverse City and stayed at the Tamarack Lodge (tamaracklodgetc.com) and it was fabulous. Right on Grand Traverse Bay. Condo was spectacular!

The July-August Coastal Living magazine has a small article on the Homestead. It features their newest addition, Camp Firefly.

Would recommend The Inn or one of the privately owned condos overlooking Lake Michigan. I think you book the private condos through Harris Properties, if I'm not mistaken.

The private condos we've stayed at were part of the Homestead, but they were off of Overbrook Rd. overlooking the Lake Michigan.

I live in Traverse City. I would recommend hitting Glen Arbor and Leland in one day. Cute little towns. There is probably also time to hit Suttons Bay. 3 great little towns.
Spend a day doing a wine tour. Old Mission Peninsula has 8 wineries within 15 minutes of each other. Great restaurant, our favorite, is Old Mission Tavern. It serves fabulous meals within an art gallery. At end of Old Mission Tavern is a lighthouse.
Re: Homestead...okay. Not my favorite. I like to be where the action is. Try Bayshore in Trav. City. Hotel right near everything. Let me know if you have any other questions. Stellas for pricey Italian food in a cool setting. Poppycocks in TC (right downtown)
You can sit outside at Apache Trout Grill or Scotts Harbor Grill. Good food and atmosphere.
