P.S. I didn't tag this as a trip report, and just noticed the notepad...it wasn't there last night???

Hmmmmm... I didn't notice this before as well. You can email the editors to ask them to un-tag it. Just click on the grey triangle with the ! in the middle (on the right end of the grey toolbar), you'll get a pop-up window for you to shoot an email to the editors easily. They're very responsive.

Ok, we are indeed cheap....but stylish. We will be staying in a hostel that is so close to shopping on Newbury St. The sleeping savings can be passed on to hot cocoa, something from the "Big" Toystore, the one with Tom Hanks.....and then we will just have a blast.

I wish I had put in a different heading here, but do you have MUST DO/SEE suggestions for us? There is storage at the hostel, so really, we can explore til the cows come home....

Which one is it? Would love to know how it is after your stay.

The toy store? You mean FAO Schwarz? the Boston store went out of Business years ago. Anyway, I thought the store in the movie was the Manhattan store.

Tell us what your interests are and we can give more suggestions (or perhaps start a new thread too, but please tell us what kind of things you'd like to see).

Indeed Tom played at the FAO Schwarz in NYC, and the Boston store is gone.

Are you staying at the hostel on Hemenway Street? Are you sure that their rates are significantly better than what you can pay for a regular hotel on Priceline?

$40/ night. Yes, on Hemenway. We are actually watching for a better rate at a hotel, or whatever comes up, but no matter, what, we have a pillow. There's also the YWCA. We want to spend more of our time gettin' out and about as opposed to sleeping in, though sleeping in is calling me, daily....

I visited the FAO in 2000. Wow, that it is gone!

I want to get some afghans from second hand stores. That's weird, I know, but I've been washing them, and taking them to the DAV and Humane Society, so any places that would have a warm-handmade blanket or two are on my wish list.

I want to see Harvard, haven't seen it since (gulp) 1993, and want to just eat, walk around, let my eyes soak in the tremendous views of something outside of brown, wintery Colorado. I picked up the Fodors Boston 2009 from the library, and am looking for info on Italian food and just, really, anything. So if you think of anything striking that someone must see in this lifetime, let me know, I am not picky. My friend is, but its my invite to her, so she'll just have to be less picky. Essentially just going to Boston, because its a $40 plane ride as an employee, so may as well go!

Clueless about cool things to do,
Gypsy

If that $40 is per person, you would definitely be better-off with Priceline.

I am going to wait. Due to #1 my new puppy and being responsible for creating a regular peeing, eating, walking, schedule causes me to have to reschedule Boston. I will. I have credit with JB!!

#2 There is going to be puppy class at PetCo on Saturday, and Howdy needs some socialization.

#3 Weather in Boston....notice, its not #1, I'm not that big of a wimp, though, if I am going, I may as well enjoy it.

#4 Weather in Colorado....though it is warm, it is terribley dry...

#5 Otro responsobilities. But I will show up, out there. Just wait!! I will begin a new post so it will be clear instead of what airline should I take...what a goofy post title.

Don't worry, Boston will still be here. And perhaps you can choose to come during nicer/better weather. Thanks for letting us know.

definitely will. I think If I hopped on a plane tonight going standby, then after canceling my JB return, standby on the return, I wouldn't be relaxed for Monday am, when I go back to work. I will definitely let everyone know!!
