Airline carry-on restrictions - deoderant?

In the last 20 trips I've taken with stick deodorant it's never gone in the baggie, and never been questioned, so I agree with Faina.
Clear gel deodorants as well as roll-on are supposed to go in the 1qt clear baggie.

I think it depends on the TSA agent. I had one give me a hard time about my inhaler that is powder. The agent said it had to go in a quart size bag and be pulled at security. Now it's powder and liquids and...what next???

The "rules" are arbitrarily enforced. I carried on a normal deoderant (over 3 oz) literally over 50 times, then, once, in Denver a few weeks ago, it was confiscated.
I didn't bother to argue with them.
And I ignore the clear baggie rule, and only once have I been forced to put my items in one, and that was in Louisville late last year.
