2 days in Dallas with kiddo

I'm actually from north Texas, but I haven't spent time in big D in ages. I'll be there later this month with my 7 year old son and we'll have 2 days. What are some fun things to do around downtown with a kid? The only things I have in mind right now are the state fair and the Lego Discovery Center in Grapevine. Any other suggestions?

Ross Perot Museum of Nature and Science is downtown would be excellent for your 7 year old. Also the Dallas Aquarium (which is soooo much more than an aquarium) is a great choice. And hopefully it will have cooled down a bit here by the time you are visiting.

You can take your son to Zero Gravity Thrill Amusement Park in Dallas, Klyde Warren Park, Dallas World Aquarium, Dallas Angelika Film Center, Highland Park Village, White Rock Lake Park, Dallas Zoo, Dallas Arboretum & Botanical Gardens. You will be quite busy visiting these places in 2 days.

For sure the state fair. He's a great age for that. That will take one full day.

> . . . is a theater for independent films. Big question as to what would be good for a 7 yo boy there.

> is riotously expensive.

The Perot Museum and the nearby Dallas World Aquarium would be great for most of a day. The Fair and the Chinese Lantern Festival would also be excellent for the hobbit.

The Arboretum has a brand new children's garden that is supposed to be awesome. It requires separate timed tickets though.

The Dallas aquarium is excellent. The FtW zoo is much nicer than Dallas', if it interests you.
