My husband and I will have a full day to spend in Dallas. A Saturday in March. Any suggestions for a fun way to spend the day? We are active, but would entertain ideas of good museums,, fun sightseeing spots, must see attractions, etc. We are not big shoppers. Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Keep in mind that things in Dallas are pretty spread out so you'll need transportation to get between various points of interest. That means you'd probably only have time to see 2 or 3 things during your "full day" (sorry, you don't say how long that really is). Anyway here are some interesting things:

If weather is nice and you are downtown, check out Klyde Warren Park, which was built over a freeway. There is a restaurant there as well as food trucks and just a lot of neat free things to do. It has enlivened downtown Dallas. The park is in close proximity to the Perot Museum.

Dallas also has a great train system that will get you around quite a few places, including the zoo, Fair Park and Deep Ellum.

The Sixth Floor Museum should be at the top of your list. It is unique to Dallas, and captures a historic time extremely well. I would allow about 3 hours if you want to watch all of the films. The Dallas World Aquarium is an easy walk nearby and is really neat.
