Here are the winter 2013 colors, so at least you know what colors to avoid now.

I was going to suggest avoiding Bermuda shorts so you are not pegged as a tourist, but it looks like they are back in.

None of the models seem particularly pleased about that trend. They could stand to put a few pounds on as well, if you ask this fashion consultant.

Year-old fashion tips, Nelson? In this case, Google is NOT your friend.
I don't see why it wouldn't be a serious question, since some people really do care about fashion, but this site is the land of people who don't, so no one will know.

LOL, I would disagree that this is the land of people who don't care about fashion NewbE. I'd say far too many posters here care far too much about it. That's why you get debates on whether 2 pair of shoes is enough or is 4 pair the minimum a woman can get by with for a week's vacation.
Almaruth60, why not wait till you arrive and see what they are wearing. They do have shops in France where they sell nail polish you know.
Just wear clear on the flight over and then do a quick visual survey on arrival before heading right to a shop to buy whatever colour you see is the one to buy.
I mean what else would you rather do with your time in Paris? Making sure you are wearing the right nail polish is obviously your first priority. In fact, maybe the way to go is to pre-book an appointment at a good nail studio as your first stop on arrival. That way you will get the real scoop from the professionals on what is in fashion that week.

Mea culpa, but aren't there points awarded for recognizing that six-month old nail color pointers are invalid?
Neither my drinking buddies nor my wife would have expected that much insight from me.

Seems both very light, like nude colors and very dark, like deep purple/black are current yet classic.
Green and blue both pop up, but I'm not sure I'd want to be stuck with either of those for the duration of a trip.
Just Google spring 2014 + nail colors + paris and loads of photos pop up.

As long as we're sharing, I have seen several photos on fashion blogs featuring two different shades of nail polish, worn on alternating fingers, or a different one on each hand. One photo, for example, showed one hand done in read and the other in a dark navy. Chic, I thought. (can't find the photo now.) And Michelle Williams was pictured in the NYT a week or so ago wearing several different shades of green at once, in a modern take on Sally Bowle's signature nail polish.
