Any good agency in Peru

Hi travelers,

I was wondering if you know a good company that organize treks to Machu Picchu, i know that the inca trail is nice hike but is already limited, so is out of my plans. Now I am thinkig to take the salkantay hike service... have you done it , i need some feeback....which trek do you suggest

Salkantay, Lares trek or Inca jungle trek. it seems that they are best treks to get Machu Picchu. any advise will be highly apreciate.

Thanks so much!!!

I don't think Nina does treks, but I'm sure she'll know someone who does:

She's as good as it gets for Peru travel.

www.andeantravelweb.com best info careful

many scammers/resellers here and on the Plaza at Cusco

Go DIRECT choose top providers there licensed for 2010

www.perutreks.com www.llamapath.com www.qente.com

www.pmexplorers.com www.unitedmice.com my top 5

always pay with CC never wire money...

Salkantay goes to MP Short Inka Trail goes to MP

Lares does not you must train in with all the tourist hordes

Discounts if you wait to hook on till you get there

www.mountainlodgesofperu.com also a great upscale option to MP

Have fun,

Thanks for this useful info...we are seriously considering a trek for next August and are in the midst of gathering info. I will eventually start my own thread asking for comments/suggestions on our itinerary, but I hope you don't mind my jumping on this thread with a follow-up question for qwovadis (or anyone else)...I am looking into several of the companies you mentioned above, but both andeantravelweb.com and someone I know also suggested Engima. Do you know them? Any thoughts or experience with them? Thanks and Happy Travels!

Check out my blog for a link to Adventure Holidays Peru (now Adios Adventure Travel, I believe) ... http://2totravelperu.blogspot.com/2009/04/wrap-up.html
(I'd post a direct link to the site, but I can't get to it from work). We traveled with the owner, Vidal, on a non-trekking trip to Peru last year, but his specialty is trekking (Inca Trail and other). Others have posted that they've had great experience with him on treks.
