Palm Springs Hotel Help with 2 Teenagers

We are considering a trip to PS in late March with our 2 boys 14/17. I have not stayed there is a while and would appreciate recommendations on an upscale hotel with more than just a basic pool area. I would love to stay at some of the smaller boutique type hotels, but with the boys, I figure that we will give the kidless adults a break. Thanks in advance for your help.

My teenagers loved the JW Marriott Desert Springs last year. We are going back again this April, and this is where they want to stay again. The pool area is great, and there were a lot of kids there their ages. We loved it there too-great views, golf, food, and rooms.

Thanks jd, that helps! Have you ever tried the water park in PS? My kids have gone to Hurricane Harbor quite a bit, so I don't know if it would be worth it.

Sherri-No we have never tried the water park-I couldn't get my 2 to leave the pool or resort area, but this year I plan to visit more of the area-maybe Joshua Tree and the tram.

Anybody have an opinion on which is nicer, the JW Marriott or the Renaissance Marriott? The Renaissance supposedly redid all their rooms a year ago...
