?JW Marriott at Desert Ridge

The JW Marriott in particular is not listed or rated on the Fodors website. Has anyone stayed at this resort? If so, is it child friendly? What are the pluses and minuses to this resort? Thanks.

I've never heard of the JW Marriott at Desert Ridge but I've stayed at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa and it is immpressive. Huge beautiful resort, only minus is that it is very expensive.

If it is Desert Springs I was unimpressed. Yes, it is child friendly, although it was extremely expensive and we had cochroaches in 2 rooms. Not just one or two cochroaches but 7 in one and 5 in the other. They shrugged it off which really ticked me off. I won't go back.

The JW Marriott Desert Ridge, is, if i'm not mistaken, in Phoenix, and it's very new. About a year old. Which is probably why its not listed by Fodors. It's supposed to be very nice, though. Go to Tripadvisor.com to read reviews. I think I saw it mentioned in my current Conde Nast Traveler magazine as one of the top US hotels. Sounds like a great kid place!

Spent a few days at the Desert Ridge Marriott last year with a friend for some R&R. We loved it. We don't have kids but it looked like it would be good for kids. They have several pools, including a "lazy river" which was full of kids, and they seemd to enjoy it. Go for it.

I'm pretty sure that you are talking about a hotel in north Phoenix. Please remember that you really need to list the town and state of which you are talking. Hotel names alone do not identify where they are located.

Thanks so much. I apologize for not including the location. Yes, it is in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area. I will check out the tripadvisor.com and look at the Conde Nast Traveller for more information.
