Mykonos/Naxos/Evvia - Accommodation Reviews from a month of travel with kids

Late in posting, but better late than never!

We spent a magical month in Greece last year (mid-June to mid-July). We’ve got 2 boys who were age 5 and 7 at the time.

Here are our Accommodation Reviews—

Mykonos
Artemoula’s Studios
Website - Mykonos Studios - Artemoulas Studios Mykonos

We spent 5 nights in a large 2-bedroom unit here. The property has 2 pools but we were able to use the pool of the adjacent property as well. The kids loved the club sandwich that the friendly and kind pool/bar attendant made them every morning. The unit we stayed in was simple but very clean. WiFi is excellent at the pool and in the public areas but spotty within the unit itself. Not a problem - just step out onto the balcony .

We loved the location, friendly staff, and price. It was very reasonable for expensive Mykonos. It’s set back from the road between Psarou and Platys Yialos, so there’s no road noise. There’s a hill to walk up, but that was not a problem for our crew. We are hoping to return this coming summer when we return to Mykonos (primarily to see Delos again - it is amazing!). There’s a bus stop at the top of the hill - very convenient for getting into Chora.

Naxos
Villa Naxia

We spent 3 nights in the Deluxe Apartment and would have stayed longer, but it was already booked when we inquired for our June stay... the October before! Seriously - book this place EARLY!

The apartment is fantastic. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nikos, the owner, is fantastic. WiFi is excellent on the terrace and in the public areas. It was a bit spotty within the apartment itself, but going out onto the lovely and huge terrace solved any connection issues. We paid for breakfast and it was incredible! Definitely doubled as lunch!! The highlight of this apartment is the location. Right on the sandy, shallow-way-out town beach. Perfect for families. Highly recommend. Oh, you can send a big bag of laundry out for only 10E.

Naxos
Kavos Boutique Hotel

We spent our final 3 nights on Naxos here due to Villa Naxia being booked. The property is gorgeous. We were upgraded free of charge to a true 2-bedroom villa and it was just lovely - spacious, immaculate, comfortable, and with excellent WiFi. There was even a bathtub! The pool area is great and views are incredible. The whole property is very quiet and peaceful. We loved every minute here but the true price for the unit we stayed in is not what we like to pay (it’s in the neighborhood of 400E/night), so it will probably be a while before we return.

We ate at the restaurant one night and food was excellent although service was only so-so. The only tiny blip in an otherwise perfect visit.

Chalkida (Evvia)
Hara Hotel

Hara Hotel is actually just across the strait from Evvia, so it’s technically on the mainland. We spent 13 nights here and just fell in love with Evvia! We were here with a friend who grew up here and had the most wonderful time meeting and spending time with her family. We really got to explore and see the area through a local’s eyes.

The hotel is family-run, SO reasonably priced, and very clean. It’s simple, but completely comfortable. The only amenity I missed was a hairdryer. A huge breakfast buffet is included from the air conditioned rooftop restaurant with views to die for. Our massive quadruple room with AC, WiFi, a bathtub! in the bathroom, a balcony facing the strait, the breakfast... was in the neighborhood of 70E/night. A big bag of laundry can be sent out for 10E and a really good club sandwich w/fries via room service was only 6E (my boys get hungry at all hours!).

Highly, highly recommend both the hotel and visiting Evvia.

I did not keep records on where we ate daily, but we didn't have a bad meal anywhere. I'm FAR from fluent in Greek, but I took 4 years of private Greek lessons in my early 20s and remember enough for basic communication. That was helpful in Evvia. Please feel free to ask any questions! We are headed back to the Greek islands for another 3.5 weeks this summer.

Thank you for posting. I will be in Greece with my children as well this summer for 2 weeks and I can't wait. I booked my accommodations already but it is nice to keep options open.

Hi jennygreen,

If looking at Artemoula's on Mykonos, contact them pretty fast. They are already booking up for the summer! We booked our stay for this coming June last night, and the apartment we originally planned to reserve was already booked. We still got one that will work fine... but they are definitely already getting reservations settled, so don't wait! Mykonos is very expensive and this is one of the best "value lodging" options.
