Wine Tour from Santiago, Chile

Will be spending six days in Santiago for business in August and am thinking about extending my trip so I can go on a 2-day wine tour. Would love to hear from people who have been on Liz Caskey's tours. I just checked out her site and all the trips sound wonderful - Which is the best for August? Will it be too cold to go into the Andes? Would also appreciate recommendations for other wine trips. English guide not necessary, I speak Spanish.

I am going there next month and I will be touring the Wine country through Casablanca and up to Vina Del Mar and Con Con.

Hopefully someone can answer you sooner .

Thanks, Percy. E-mailed Liz C. about appropriate tours for August but haven't heard back. My colleages in Santiago are saying that a tour is not necessary, they'll just take me to some wineries. Looking forward to your trip report.

We drove S to the Colchagua Valley: Montes was great and had a wonderful lunch in Sta. Cruz at the hotel.
If you can get to Porta winery on the way back to Santiago, I think you'll be impressed.
Don't miss: El Mercado and comida at Donde Augusto - best sea bass ever, and Galindo in Bellavista.
