Wilton Hotel in Buenos Aires

Has anyone stayed at the Wilton Hotel in Buenos Aires? If so, what was your experience? It looks nice on the internet. Is December high traveling season in Argentina?? I'm having difficulty getting a hotel room.

It looks as tourism is quickly growing in Argentina, Dec. is high season .
Still there are many nice undiscovered small hotels / B&B in town and close to BA ( 20 minutes).
Haven´t been at the Wilton , from the outside look OK .

I just answered a similar post about the difficulties to find rooms at high season.
Why don´t you try to rent a furnished apartment the process is very easy and there are several choises, plus you can see in advance the place you will rent.
Here are some companies that do so:

www.bahomerental.com
www.bahouse.com.ar
www.apartmentba.com

The Wilton is serviceable...nothing special, but in a good location on Callao near Santa Fe in Barrio Norte/Recoleta.

Drdawggy - What hotels do you recommend in a similar price range to the Wilton?
My friends stayed there in March and thought it was a good hotel for the price. And they really liked being in Recoleta.

The Wilton Hotel on Callao Ave is in an exc area in Buenos Aires. It is only steps from Santa Fe Ave. where you can see people moving till very late. Not far from Recoleta and the very aristocratic area. If you check the price and it is good, go for it.

Your friend is right. The Wilton is a good hotel for the money based on its great location. Depending on the rate you are quoted, I can't really think of another hotel in the area I would recommend over it.... I haven't checked this hotel in a year or so, but rates back then were around $50-55 per night. If the price is much more than this, check the Plaza Francia...another hotel in an excellent location in about the same price range. Also, check with one of the travel agents recommended on this board for rates at these or similar hotels....very often rates through an agent are less than if you book yourself directly with the hotel or off the internet.

While I don't like the locatio as well, the NH Florida is another option downtown....Near Puerto Madero on the other end of downtown, the NH Jousten. The Jousten is about $80 and the Florida ten or more dollars less.
