What should I do when I visit Cancun?

We are planning a trip to Cancun for 6 days with our married friends in August...we are not too big into the Club thing, but wondering what could we do while we are there? Any suggestions.....

You can go to Xel-ha, Xcaret, Tulum. You have lot of choices.

In addition to snorkeling at Xel-ha and touring the ruins at Tulum, you could take a boat over to Cozumel for a day. Also, a boat ride to Isla Mujeres, which is not nearly as touristy as Cancun/Cozumel, is fun. Finally, I would rent a car or take a bus inland to Chichen Itza. These ruins are so awe-inspiring, it is definitely worth the trip. Along the way, you could also visit the beautiful town of Valledolid.

I HIGHLY recommend X=Caret. It's a natural park with different attractions. They have rivers that run into caves that you swim with life preservers. I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the show at night. I think it's among the best shows I've ever seen and that's coming from someone who has seen his fare shows on Broadway.

I, too would recommend Chichen Itza and a trip over to Cozumel and of course SCUBA diving. Beware of Senor Frogs. The conga line & alligators will get you every time.

One thing you should do: stay away from timeshare salespeople that roam the Boulevard Kukulkan in search for victims. They are very good at luring you in and before you know it you'll be the owner of a brand new timeshare !!
