Tour on the way to Selva Verde

Four of us, including two boys ages 8 and 9, will be traveling from Finca Rosa Blanca to Selva Verde in June. What would you recommend that we do on the way or before the drive? We can go to the coffee tour or perhaps stop to see Poas Volcano? What are other options and what do you think would be interesting for kids?

Not sure how it may work for you, but the La Paz Waterfall Gardens are worth a stop. You kids will love it.

Agree - La Paz is great for kids. Poas is worth seeing if the weather cooperates, but it gets enshrouded in fog and sometimes you can't see anything. We loved the Doka Coffee tour, but I think kids might get bored with it. It's an in depth look at the process.

Our first stop on our trip was the Peace lodge/ La Paz Waterfall Gardens. We loved it! So fun feeding the giant hummingbirds by hand. We spent over an hour just watching butterflies hatch out of their chrysalis. As it turned out, the rest of our trip was so rainy, we never saw many more animals in the wild . Good thing we saw what we did at La Paz WH.

Thank you for the suggestions. We are staying at the Peace lodge for our last night at CR so the waterfalls are out.

We went in early November. Everyone told us it was quite unusual for such a rainy cold front like that one to come thru . Arenal was down right cold. Slept in my sweats. We loved the Peace Lodge and all the comforts

I see. We are going in June so it can be rainy if we are not lucky. Oh, well. We will try to enjoy it no matter what

We've been there several times, and the rainiest was December which surprised us.
