Tamarindo to Montezuma

Does anyone know the drive time between the 2 cities? all flights were full to Tambor so I am considering Tamarindo and then taxi/bus to Montezuma.
Thanks!

Hello tabby, it´s a long journey to Montezuma with public bus. Go from Tamarindo first do Liberia (1-1.5h) and take bus to Puntarenas (2.5 h), ferry to Paquera (1.15 h), bus to Montezuma (1.5-2h). A quicker way is with boat taxi to Malpais and taxi to Montezuma. Ask in Tamarindo at the Information Center beside the supermarket.

Thanks!! Your site has been so much help! Do you know the name of the water taxi or their site? I'd like to make reservations. Thanks again!

Yay! I've been looking into the boat taxi idea FROM Malpais (taxi from Montezuma) to Tamarindo without much luck but a name - Paradise Beach Boat Charters???

Is there a web site or a number for this company or any boat that will take us (4) from Malpais to Tamarindo in July?

Also wondering if it's pricey. It has to be faster than the 5+ hours to drive!
I'd love to hear any information anyone might have!
