Depends on where you want to stay. Depending upon the specific dates, the following hotels should fit in your price range...

Downtown...Crown Plaza PanAmericano. Carlos Pelligrini 525. Two towers...rooms are nicer in the newer of the two towers. One of the nicest traditional restaurants in town is located in the hotel..

Also, you might want to look at the Hilton in Puerto Madero or LoiSuites in Recoleta. Both are very nice properties.

If you could get into the Sofitel for this price, it is a very nice hotel....

$100-$120 US dollars. Based on what I've researched, it sounds like there are some nice places that we could get between $70 - $100 US dollars per night. Is anyone familiar with the Design Suites?

There are quality hotels or aparthotels in virtually all categories in BsAs...My first post covered only a couple of examples in the price range you cited.

IN the 70-100 range you might look at the NH City or Jouston, or Art Suites.
Design Suites is very nice, but the studios are small, with very thin walls. Also, the location on Marcelo T. de Alvear is neither in Recoleta or downtown, the areas most tourists want to stay in....a good location, near Santa Fe...but not as central as some other locations...

The belmont hotel on Arenales is slightly lower in price and is an excellent hotel...

Hi, for aprox 80 dollars the Argenta Towers is an excellent choice. This includes parking and a good buffet breakfast. It is a 4 a well rated 4 stars. You can stay in more expensive hotels but this is a good buy. Located in Juncan between Esmeralda...and ?
Their rest is very good and has excellent fixed menus, for 6 dollars you can have a very good lunch that in the Us could cost like
30 to 40 dollars. GOOD LUCK.

I've seen several people recommend Park Plaza Kempinski in La Recoleta. Did any of you happen by the Park Chateau Kempinski, also in La Recoleta, during your jaunt? How did it look compared to the Park Plaza?

Both hotels look very similar, but I really liked the location of the Park Plaza. It is located in one of the most upscale streets of the Recoleta. The hotel is located around the corner from Alvear Street, which is like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills with all the designer stores and the famous Alvear Palace Hotel. If you do stay at the Park Plaza, request a room that faces the street.

UPDATE -- Now that I'm down here, I highly recommend the Design Suites, which you asked about. That is where I am right now. Someone stated that their studios were small walls were thin. I don't know where they got this info. The walls are not thin. In fact, the hotel is made up of 4, 8-story towers, and there is just one room on each floor. So there is no one on any side of you. We are on the 5th floor and there is absolutely no noise from above or below or outside. AND, our studio has a kitchenette & is plenty big for my husband & I and our 10 year old. It is absolutely a fantastic place. If you like minimalism (think Ian Schrager) you'll love the serenity of this place. AND it IS in a good location, IMHO.
