puerto vallarta hotel in old town

We are looking for a B&B or small hotel that is either on the beach or at least with an ocean view. We want to be in the old town area as a more authentic experience is probably even more important than the beach part.

I have seen the other suggestions for Playa Los Arcos and that is larger than what we normally go for but a possibility.

Thanks for any ideas.

The problem is finding both small & on the beach or with a view. Most of the beach-front properties are larger hotelsor condo buildings.

The Tropicana www.hoteltropicana.com
or Playa Los Arcos www.playalosarcos.com
are two I'd suggest that are beach-front.

Suites Emperador is right there too but pretty run down at this time.

Los Arcos also owns Dona Susana a couple blocks in which is traditional Mexican style and you get the use of the beachfront at the other hotel so would be a solid choice. www.playalosarcos.com

Casa Andrea www.casa-andrea.com is a sweet hidden gem 1-1/2 block in from the pier just off the beach.

Casa Corazon overlooks the beach but does not have a pool.

Want authentic, stay at my personal favorite www.hotelposadaderoger.com 2 blocks inland and budget basic priced.

Brisas del Mar sits up on the hill with nice view and good pool if you don't mind walking & steps.

Hotel Los Quatro Vientos has good views and traditional atmosphere but is up on the hills behind the church along way from the beach.

If your budget permits Quinta Maria Cortez is an amazing hotel right on the beach a bit further south on Conchas Chinas

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like we will have to compromise on something-we either can't be in town or we give up the beach or we give up the preference for a B&B. But we can get 2 out of 3 and that isn't bad.

I have looked at the places you mentioned and here are a couple of others I was looking at, do you know anything about:

Casa Mirador
Casa Amorita
Villa Olivia

Thanks so much

I've seen the Casa Amorita website, but never heard of the other two, sorry.

I don't care for B&B's myself, so am not a good resource for those I'm afraid.

www.allvallarta.com
www.vallarta-info.com
are the two best websites for PV information imo. There's also an active PV forum over at www.tripadvisor.com

Here's another I think looks interesting but haven't ben to yet. It gets good comments.

Best View IMO is from The Los Cuatro Vientos high in the PV Hills on Matamoros. A long walk to the beach BUT the views are incredible!
Adult only (over 16) & but 12 rooms with an excellent restaurant. Not fancy but charming. Breakfast included.
Second oldest hotel in PV.

Thanks to everyone, I will dig into these and get a decision made as I know some places are already booked.

If I go anywhere different and really love it I will share with the board.

Thanks Debbie. Feedback and opinions on other, new, different options are always great to hear!

I have the "bad" habit of just returning to the places I know and love in PV.
