Pacific or caribbean Mexico in August?

Maybe this will help narrow down the resort I stay in. How's the water in both during August. Rain? Hurricanes? Any worries? Any info will help.

Thanks!

Water temp of the Caribbean in August typically is about 82-84 degrees..feels great! I can't speak for the Pacific during that time. As for the beaches, the Pacific vacation spots in Mexico cannot compare to the Caribbean beaches up and down the eastern side of Mexico. We are talking white powdery sand and clear turquoise water. Hope this helps.

I agree w/Mandy however hurricanes are more prevalent on the Caribbean although they rarely get them on the Pacific Coast. Aruba seems to be the only spot hurricane free.

Hi, Marnie. I'm very familiar with both Los Cabos and Cancun having been there many times. First let me mention that it will be very hot in either area at that time. Last year, a few days after I left Los Cabos, a hurricane passed nearby and a few weeks later, one hit the area. Cancun did not experience any last year. But please keep in mind that time of year is hurricane season in both areas. As for beaches, the ones in Los Cabos cannot compare to those in Cancun, and many beaches in Los Cabos are unswimmable due to steep dropoffs close to shore and strong currents. But both areas are very beautiful, but different. Los Cabos is desert and mountains, and Cancun is tropical. So no matter where you go, it will be beautiful.
