Looking for a Spanish language school that offers fun children's classes
I was hoping that someone could recommend a good Spanish language school in Costa Rica or Mexico that offers fun children's classes as well as classes for adults.
Thank you in advance!

From personal experience, I would strongly recommend CPI (Centro Panamericana de Idiomas) in Costa Rica. Many families do this school together and the staff is excellent. A bonus is that the study program is offered at three campuses--Heredia (San Joaquin de Flores), Monteverde, and Playa Flamingo. You can do homestay or not. The homestay option is great for an immersion experience.
Don't know about Mexico, but there are literally dozens of schools in Costa Rica. Last summer, one of the persons I attended school with had do a considerable amount of research before selecting CPI.
They offer all types of afternoon activities--from art classes to dancing, cooking, evening movies, tours, etc. Also a selection of weekend tours are available at good prices.

We just returned from Curnavaca where my 17 year old daughter studied at the school Cemenhauc. They must have 15 or more language schools there and many cater to families. You can check with The National Registration Center for Study Abroad (NRCSA) which compares programs around the world and has a lot of useful information even if you don't end up using them. I think you should decide the type of surroundings you want to be in and go from there.

You did not say how old your children are and that makes a big difference. I found that most of the language schools do NOT have children's classes that are much more than day care. The emphasis seems to be on teens and adults.
We had a wonderful two week experience last year in Cuernavaca, Mexico at a school called Instituto Chac-Mool. My kids were 10 and 15. My 10 year old was in a special kids program that included games, cooking, crafts, and other fun activities all in Spanish. My 15 year old was in a group of four other teens doing the same program as the adults, a conversation based course that includes instruction in grammar, culture and history. Both of them were beginners and had such a wonderful time, that we are going back for three weeks this summer. My husband and I were equally pleased with our classes. Finding good language schools is easy. There are so many. But finding a place that puts time and thought into a developmental program for kids is what led me to Chac-Mool. Let me know if I can answer any other questions you might have.
