Believe me, you DON'T want to drive from Buenos Aires to Punta Del Este, Mendoza, and Iguazu Falls, distances are significant. Take the hydrofoil to Punta del Este (you can take the car with you on the hydrofoil), fly to Iguazú Falls, and drive only to Mendoza.

Thank you marta for the recomendation. The Idea isn't to drive to all 3 places. Just need the length of time by car to each place so we can deside where we will go and how we will get there. How much is the hydrofoil to Punta del Este?. We are a group of 5 guys arriving in BA on the feb 14th. Looking to spend the weekend in BA. Meybe head out to Punta del Este on monday 17th or tuesday to come back on thurd 20th to BA. Go to Mendoza on Friday 21. spend the weekend in BA.
we head back on the 23rd at night.
what do you think of this itinerary?
we are still trying to figure out how to get around. which brings me back to my original question. Can you contract someone locally?
thank you in advance for your help!
we are sooo... looking forward to visit Argentina.

napojnr,
P del E by car is over 9 hours of driving for so so roads, while the hydrofoil is three hours of just watching the water comfortably, and having drinks. The cost will be nothing split by five. I'm taking out of experience, I must have gone to P del E 50 times. We used to go by land with my school mates when we were on a budget, unless you are on the tightest budget, take the hydrofoil. You do need a car in Punta del Este.
About Mendoza, it is 1064 km from BA, 665 miles. You plan to go there on Friday 21 and spend the weekend in BA? How will you do that? If I were you, I would skip Mendoza and would fly to Iguazú falls, three days is the perfect stay.
When you say contract someone locally, do you mean a driver? Please feel free to e-mail me at [email protected]

Janice,

Again, do not drive to Iguazú, it makes no sense, fly instead. The best place for driving is Patagonia, especially the Bariloche area with its lakes, Villa La Angostura, the cross to Chile. The problem is that it is a two days drive to reach Bariloche from BA. You should fly there, and rent a car at the airport. E-mail me at [email protected] if you need info on night life and BA must sees.

Enjoy, and welcome!
Hello, I just wanted to say that I´ve made contact with Cinthia and she had everything set up for me in only two days. I went to the Falls and visited both sides but I prefer the argentine one for sure. I´ve seen so many posts recommending her that I will gladly do the same.

Hi, driving to Punta del Este from Buenos Aires, can be done in different ways, the best is taking the
Buquebus ship, which takes 2 to 3 hours to Montevideo and then it is a breeze, one hour and a half to Punta del Este. These are the distances between these cities,
Montevideo to Punta del Este is only
140 kms, not miles kilometers.
Another option is to take the ship between Buenos Aires and Colonia, URuguay, the trip is about one hour in the ship then the drive between Colonia and Punta del Este is aprox
310 kilometers.
To drive all the way you have to go North from Buenos Aires to the INternational bridge over the River Uruguay and then once you cross it you have to go SOuth towards the sea shore. It is not advisable.
Between Buenos Aires and Mendoza if I am not wrong it is 1000 kilometers, a long trip.
I agree it is not such a good idea to drive to Iguazu Falls take a plane to get there, there many good packages that include hotel plus plane to go there and you should profit from them. Good luck.
