I also stayed at the Beltmont House in Montevideo and found it excellent. THis is a small hotel with attention to detail. It is located in a residential area called Carrasco, tree lined streets, quiet and pleasant. They lend us bicycles and we rode around on a lazy Sunday morning.
Then went for a dip in their beautiful pool, being Sunday there was a bar b q by the pool that day. Very relaxed, we could have been in some place in
Europe.
I stayed one day long ago in the Radisson called at the time I believe Plaza or something like that and it was not bad, but that was many years ago. It had a nice bar I remember well.

Hi I am right now in Montevideo and found out a very nice hotel close to the Sheraton but I believe a better buy, it is the Melia Confort, this hotel belongs to the well know Spanish chain and has several pluses one of them is the use at 50% of the golf course across the street. This is a lovely gulf course the top in Montevideo.
We stayed in a corner suite which was lovely and had a nice view.
Front desk personel could have been better but never the less we enjoyed the place
