If you had a choice would you stay at the Sheraton or the Radisson in Montevideo?

I've stayed on both and the Sheraton is much better. Better rooms, better location and better service.

Nino

Have you ever stayed at the Belmont House in Montevideo?

Thank you

I just got back from one night at HOtel Belmar in Monteverde and it was great. Check out my trip report under lorelietravels Trip details and Tips posted on 3/31/04.

I also stayed at the Beltmont House in Montevideo and found it excellent. THis is a small hotel with attention to detail. It is located in a residential area called Carrasco, tree lined streets, quiet and pleasant. They lend us bicycles and we rode around on a lazy Sunday morning.
Then went for a dip in their beautiful pool, being Sunday there was a bar b q by the pool that day. Very relaxed, we could have been in some place in
Europe.
I stayed one day long ago in the Radisson called at the time I believe Plaza or something like that and it was not bad, but that was many years ago. It had a nice bar I remember well.

Hi I am right now in Montevideo and found out a very nice hotel close to the Sheraton but I believe a better buy, it is the Melia Confort, this hotel belongs to the well know Spanish chain and has several pluses one of them is the use at 50% of the golf course across the street. This is a lovely gulf course the top in Montevideo.
We stayed in a corner suite which was lovely and had a nice view.
Front desk personel could have been better but never the less we enjoyed the place
