El Establo in Monteverde

I'm looking for a recent review of El Establo. My family and I are looking to book a 3 night package there via familygetway.com. It looks amazing. Is it located near the town at all? Also, has anyone done their treetop canopy tour?

I have stayed at El Establo just one time and I liked a lot. I did the Treetop Canopy Tour and love it, it was a lot of fun! It is like 15 minutes walk from the town, and 3 minutes by car! The rooms are very nice, I stayed in building 8th, in a clear day I was able to see Nicoya´s Gulf from my terrace.
Hope this helps!

We are considering staying here too for our upcoming trip. Thanks for the feedback. How did you like the Canopy Tour. Was it included in your hotel cost, or was it extra. Also, did you think it would be safe/not too scary for young children (like school age - 6 and 9)?

The tour was a lot of fun, I would say is one of the best tours in Monteverde however I like better Sky Trek. The tour is definitely safe, the guides ensure all safety guidelines are being followed. In case the kids get scared the guides always do the zipline, taking the kid with them, so its like having the experience, but the kids would not need to do anything. When I did the tour they were some kids ages 8 and 10, they had a lot of fun. The views thru the tour are really nice.
The tour was extra cost but the rate was pretty good.
Hope this helps!

The Original Canopy Tour is nice too - not as adventurous as Sky Trek so maybe good for less adventurous kids.
