Hi love the way all the advice I am getting is helping me plan my trip !!
I am plg to be in NOLA for four days with seven year olds .Is it worth it to go on a swamp trip ?If yes any recommendations ?
Also we head to natchez next so any point in doing plantation tours in NOLA !!
Love the sound of Isabelle when tour but it is expensive when u add up for four !

A great option is to visit Jean Lafitte NHP and Preserve, which is an easy drive from NOLA. The youngsters can stroll on boardwalks lingering as long as they want to spot alligators.

I think a swamp tour would be great with kids. Our nephews love anything where get in a boat and/or look at animals. We did a swamp tour with Capt Nick several years ago out of Lafite. Definitely recommend his tour if he is still doing it.
I wouldn't take a coach tour to see the plantations with kids that age though. The tours of the houses probably wouldn't interest them all that much and it is an hour plus each way in the van. Bo-ring
If you want to check out a plantation, I'd do it on the drive up to Natchez. Then you can do it on your pace and then call it quits when the kids really lose interest.

We went through that decision several years ago when visiting New Orleans - was the van ride to the swamp tours worth our time. And yes, both and I the kids (around your kids' age) thought the ride was worth it. I can't remember which swamp tour operator we used, but i found it beautiful and informative, and we loved all the wildlife, including the 'gators.
