average age for CIE tours?

For those who have been on CIE tours what is the ages of people who go on them? I am going to Ireland with my aunt who will be 60. I will be 27. I am hoping there will be some people close to my age when we go. If not, it will be ok! We will be going in June.

I think out tour may have more older people on it because this tour gives time to go back to the hotels in the afternoon. I am thinking possibly families with kids since we are going at the end of June and some kids may be out of school.

Thanks!!

My husband and I took a CIE tour during Easter week and we were the youngest people on the tour. We were both 45. Most of the people were 55-70 I'd say. There were no young families or children on our tour. CIE does not allow children under 8 and children 8 or over are charged the full adult rate (less $100 discount). If there are no people your age on the tour, you'll certainly meet some in the pubs at night!.

If it is a older crowd, that's ok with me!!! I'll have a great time regardless of the ages of others on the tour. If I am the only young person, it can give me an excuse to be a little crazy!! Plus they may enjoy a younger person around. And I have met some "young" 70 year olds.

Hi jessica, I can't comment on CIE but I'm in my early 30s (no kids) and just went on my first ever guided tour, to East Africa, with my husband and in-laws. Judging by what I've heard, these types of tours definitely attract an older crowd. There were 12 people on our tour and everyone else was old enough to be our parents; most had grandkids. Suffice it to say that we had a wonderful time and got along great with everyone. I think it may have actually been more fun than having people around who were our own age. Everyone sort of looked to us as the adoptive kids and there were lots of jokes along those lines. As long as you have a good attitude about it, you will probably have a great time!

Jessica, it is very refreshing to encounter somebody with an attitude like yours. I believe that you will have a great time, and will probably help others to have a great time.

I don't go on organised tours, most of all I wouldn't do it in Ireland because that is where I live. I have, however, encountered many CIE tour parties, and the general pattern is that the participants are more of your aunt's generation than of yours.

Thanks everyone!!! I thought it would be people older than me b/c our tour gives were are going on gives you free time at the hotels in the afternoons. Me, I will probably explore the grounds or find something to do!

I'm hoping for someone around my age, but if not that's ok too. I am getting excited about my trip. I can't wait for June to get here!!!!!

Last year I went to Egypt with more family members on a Trafalgar tour which had a variety of ages and nationalities. We all had a great time. So I was curious about the makeup of the CIE tours.
