Jack the Ripper Walkint Tour
My two youngest children are a boy 10 and a girl 8. Is this tour to much for them, maybe I should say her, because I know the boy will think it is cool. He is the one pushing for the Tower Dungeon Tour!

Without knowing your kids it's hard to say, but generally speaking, I would not take an 8-year-old on that tour. I've done this tour twice and the last guide I had was much more descriptive than the one on my first tour. He gave some really gory details of the killings and of the activities of the prostitutes of Whitechapel at that time. I do not recommend it for such a young child, I'm afriad it will be too disturbing for her. There are plenty of other walking tours available.

And besides the horrific details of the murders - there is the large crowd to deal with. Unfortunately this tour is a victim of its own popularity. Having 200 or more is not all that unusual. The kids could be pretty much overwhelmed.
And virtually nothing remains in the area - so you spend most of the time standing on street corners hearing about what building used to be there and then how the victims vital organs were laid neatly outside her body.
NOT something I would do w/ young children.

I would say that most of London Walks are aimed at adults. I have done about 4 dozen of them and I could count on one hand the number of walks that had young children on them. I agree with the other posters that Jack the Ripper walk is definitely not for young children. The walks are great introductions to London neighborhoods and history.
