CR Fodorite Regulars - What's the Deal?

An acquaintance wanted to know about Nosara, so I told him to check the forum and do a search for "Nosara" or "Harmony Hotel" to find our trip report. He said it couldn't be found under those or any other search terms, and he was apparently right when I tried it. Not sure what good it does to write a report if those on the forum searching for a particular location or hotel can't find it that way. Anyone have any idea what the deal is?

TRIP REPORT: FAMILY OF 5 FIRST ADVENTURE IN COSTA RICA (or how we survived rental car glitches, the flat tire scam, volcanoes, big waves, and driving in this Central American paradise . . .)

This seems to be your trip report and it is now 59th among your posts.

Hi MR Rand,

There actually have been threads in the past about the fact that the search functioning Fodors does not really work very well. (If it were working I probably could dig up the thread. ) I remember even Katie the Fodors employee who sometimes comes to the board acknowledging the fact. And yes it is too bad. There is so much good stuff out there, that people just can't find when they need it.

AV has given you a pretty easy way to find your post. But yes - having to look that way is a pain.

here is the actual url for your report.

raquel
message to AV - when I said I would go off into the sunset, I actually meant only for that other thread LOL. But I guess my attitude is all part of me selling my soul. Over at that other place, everytime I want to post something I stop and think that is now my "responsibility" to be nice...
So I have to be myself somewhere.

Raquel: How about being "nice" here and "yourself" in the other place, just to prove you did NOT sell your soul to them? LOL!!!!

MRand, I've had the same issue; the only way I've been able to find my old trip reports is to click on my name and scroll down, down, down - not very efficient. Seems like the search function just isn't very good.

Thanks avrooster, raquel z, and volcanogirl - This makes me wonder what I missing when I do a word search on the site for specific information. I understand I can find my own trip report by clicking on my name, but if I want to give any friends access to it, is there any efficient way to do that other than e-mailing them the direct link? Thanks.

MRand

Not sure what you mean.

Do you want to be able to place your link posting into a Fodors reply that you are doing.

Because if that is what you want then yes there is a way and I can show you how.
