Cancun - best beach to swim and relax???
Hi there,
we will be staying at the Hilton resort and spa in January and are wondering where the best beaches for swimming and laying on the sand are?
We have not been before and would be interested in any other tips / suggestions.
Thanks
Donna

visit the ruins at Tulum, and bring your bathing suit. This is the best beach in the area. Just incredible.
Mamitas beach in Playa is great. You can rent a chair and there is a good on site restaurant.
The beach at the Hilton is beautiful but can be rocky, and the surf rough. Unfortuanately, Cancun's beaches are not what they used to be due to the big hurricanes of the last few years. It has lost a lot of its beach, which is a true shame. The water's still beautiful, though.

Frankie is correct. The stretch of beach south of the Tulum ruins is probably the most beautiful beach in the world. It is a little far from Cancun though.
North beach on Isla is also magnificent. Beautiful white sand, turquoise waters and some funky beach bars. Isla is certainly worth at least a day trip from Cancun.
