We are going to be in BA 8 nights. The prices are all over the place. Not how it is in Paris per say! 3, 4,5,Star are somewhat priced accordingly. We were considering 4 seasons, although not so many good reviews.The Alvear and Park hyatt just a little more than we want to spend! We are willing to spend $300 US a night and in a good location. The Recoleta location is always touted, but what about Retiro? The Sofitel gets the best reviews on Tripadvisor. Any experiences? We have already booked Kempinski Park Plaza as a backup, though not to many good reviews. We are young and fun travelers like to stay in a hip boutique hotels. Im 41 and my wife is 35 though we act and feel 25 and like to have a good time while traveling. We tried BOBO, Home, Cocker, Malbai1515, "spelling" all these were booked. So I guess I am looking for two answers. Is the Recoleta the only area? and what hotel would you highly recommend.We are looking for a location we can walk just about anywhere "meaning sights" we obviously understand we will have to take some taxis. A Location close to great shopping, restaurants,nightlife. Thank You

The Sofitel is a fine hotel and priced accordingly. Retiro is centrally located, within walking distance of many sites...particularly for those who are you and in good shape.

Another option that I would recommend....the Regal Pacific....downtown location within walking distance of most everything.....

Hi drdawggy i usually agree with you, but for these guys I believe the Sofitel is a much better choice. I found the Regal Pacific v ery nice but more a business hotel.
( By the way I am going to follow your advice and take a taxi from the Ezeiza booth, never done it before...)

It is obviously in high season, since you are finding so many hotels already booked.

We just got home from there, and stayed at the Hilton in Puerto Madero. I thought it was a wonderful hotel, and we walked EVERYWHERE...to San Telmo, Palmero, the Microcenter, Recoleta...but we're big walkers. We probably logged 15 miles a day. The Hilton is beautiful, and has a multi-lingual staff and all the comforts of home, if you like that (we do). We used Hilton Honors points, but I think the hotel goes for about $200/night. There are scadzillions of restaurants in the general vicinity lining the waterfront, but cabs are plentiful and dirt cheap (you can go 15 miles for around $5US), so distance/transportation shouldn't be a big consideration, no matter where you decide to stay.
