Sofitel Madero? and BA low season
Any updates of this hotel, is it really that good?
I stayed last year at the Hilton Madero and I love it.
Wich months are considered low season in BA?
thanks for your replies

I have never stayed at the Sofitel, but I have visited the hotel and eaten in the restaurant. Great hotel in an excellent location in Retiro...very good food in the restaurant....but when I checked hotel rates the Sofitel Buenos Aires was more expensive than the Sofitel in NYC...so I passed....

drdawggy: Thanks for your kind response.
I was quoted US$ 110 + Tax/night.
I am not up to date with BA hotel rates, but comparing with the amount I payed for the Hilton, I think it might be a good option.
I saw in one of your posts that real bargains in BA were hotels in the 4 stars rating scale.
Any options I should consider?
Thanks

I have stayed at the Sofitel Madero....Sorry, I thought you were referring to the Sofiterl, in Retiro...
$110 is a good rate at the Madero. I don't think it is as good a hotel as the Hilton, but the rate is far less....If you liked the location of the Hilton, you will like the Madero......

I stayed at the Sofitel Madero for 6 days in January. It's all right, nothing great and $110 a night is a decent price. If I were to go back I would choose the Hilton as it is in a better location and is a better hotel.

I like three or four hotels in Buenos Aires that are less expensive than the Hilton...
NH Jousten, Belair, ArtSuites, and the new Hotel Bobo. The Jousten is located near Luna Park, not far from Puerto Madero...the Belair is in Recoleta, as is Art Suites....the Bobo is small and very nice, located in Palermo Viejo.

an addendum...when it first opened late last year, rooms at the Madero were 80USD per night...which I thought was a real bargain for Buenos Aires....110 is still a decent price...and the restaurant, Red is also fairly priced especially at lunch... nice pool, rooms in front have a good view....
