Dan! Brilliant thinking and ideas. It makes it all seem very possible. Somehow I don't think there would ever be more than 50 people. I am still waiting for a bit more feedback to find out what "a convenient location" means and a date selection of Oct. 4 or 5, which may be a bit more help in planning. Duh!!
So is this correct? Dinner time in Buenos Aires begins around 8pm or so, with the peak at about 10pm? With this in mind, do you think it would be appropriate to have a "drop by and say hi" from 6-9, considering these doctors visiting Buenos Aires may already have plans for dinner and a tango show?
I'll go now to visit the location of 878 and Alex's tasting room on my trusty little map i have (thank you, Raquel for the map links!!). Also, if you know of anything garden-like... Dan, I read you had an outdoor garden at your restaurant and this seems to be sticking in my head, even though I have not seen pics... some kind of comfortable urban oasis? LOL. You never know unless you ask.
Is this correct Spanish??

Chère amie Mich:
I DID tell you I don't like fancy food, so we'll have to disagree on this one.
I wouldn't go to Mr. Keller's place even if he invited me!
Well, if he PAID ME PRETTY WELL to go, maybe I would please him! LOL!!

I didn't want to say shoot, I wanted to say other words but I am trying to behave myself. Just to let you know. Anyone have any reco's for those Spanish language tapes? I really only know how to curse certain flying insects, find the bathroom and ask for another beer. Oh dear.

ĦQue zonza, I just mistakenly created Version 31 of Mona's slang page on TA and I'm not even a member! I enjoyed the links AV, thank you. I didn't see you getting fried, but maybe I changed history with a keystroke or two.... Yikes, I don't know what I did, I'd better take up knitting or something.

Yes, we have a little garden and small "restaurant" - more of a dining space. But 24 people would be beyond our limits, plus we don't really do the hors d'oeuvre-y kind of thing. (Believe me, if we did, I'd have suggested it!)
Did anyone ever answer your chardonnay question? There are some good ones - I don't think we have any that I'd put up against better Napa ones, it's not our best grape (Torrontes, especially from Salta, is Argentina's white grape claim to fame, and some pretty excellent Semillons from Patagonia). I think my favorite inexpensive chardonnay here is the Familia Gascon. If you're going for more top of the line, probably something like Zuccardi "Q".

Hi Dan, I gathered you didn't do exactly what I am at this point guessing I need, but I do appreciate all the help. And thanks for the Chard and white wine tips, I am beginning my list. Dr.Dawggy has made a reco as well.
My latest communication tells me that Friday the 5th is out for the party:impossible challenge, and the Thursday is good.... so now I am waiting to understand what will be conveniently located, in your very large and lovely city. Which I cannot wait to visit.

Hi again, I have found out that I should try to find some place near the Hilton Buenos Aires, Puerto Madero for party:impossible on October 4, Thursday. About 2-3 hours, 6-8 or nine in the evening. Would you happen to know if there are any small venues that are very close to this? It looks like it is in a major hotel area. Your help and advice is much appreciated!
